CBI: Dixit raped woman multiple times for 4 yrs
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday filed a third chargesheet in a Delhi court against self-styled godman Virender Dev Dixit, accusing him of raping a woman multiple times for four years from 2011 to 2015, officials here said.
This comes weeks after the probe agency had filed another chargesheet against Dixit, accusing him of raping a girl below the age of 12.
In the most recent case, the CBI has alleged that Dixit's associate, one Gyaneshwar Mali had brought the victim to a secret location in Lucknow and then drugged her by adding an intoxicant to the victim's milk.
The chargesheet goes on to allege that Mali then led the victim to Dixit's room, where he raped her. The CBI has alleged that Dixit had raped the woman on multiple occasions in different branches of his ashram, known as "Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalay". The probe agency has charged both Dixit and his associate for rape, criminal intimidation, and wrongful confinement of the victim.
The central probe agency had registered three cases against the self-proclaimed harbinger of spirituality after the Delhi High Court handed the probe to the CBI, asking it to form a Special Investigating Team to probe the case. No law enforcement agency has been able to locate Dixit (77) since then.
The investigative agency, through Interpol had also issued one Blue Corner Notice (BCN) and two Look Out Notices against him. The agency had further declared a Rs 5 lakh reward for any information leading to Dixit's arrest.
