CBI arrests under secretary for accepting bribery of Rs 10 lakh

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested an Under Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi having an additional charge of Managing Director, Indian Medicine & Pharmaceutical Corporation Ltd (under Ministry of Ayush) for demanding and accepting an alleged bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant.

A case was registered against the accused on the allegations of demanding a bribe from the complainant for clearing his pending bills and allowing him to continue his work. CBI laid a trap and apprehended the accused for demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs. 10 lakh. Searches were conducted at the official & residential premises of the accused which led to the recovery of some incriminating documents. The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi and remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody.
