BJP to hold Mahasammelan for traders on Apr 19

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a Rashtriya Vyapari Dhanyawad Mahasammelan at Talkatora Stadium on April 19 as part of their campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari said on Tuesday. Addressing the media at a presser, Tiwari said that while 2014 manifesto gave people hope, the 2019 "Sankalp Patra" is giving confidence to the people of India. Citing schemes introduced by the BJP government in the last five years, he said that the Narendra Modi-led government has provided relief and respect to women under the Ujjwala Scheme and Swacch Bharat mission.

The MP from North-East Delhi said that farmers and traders are both happy with the way Modi has led the government. He added that BJP has promised to constitute a Central Traders Commission to identify problems faced by trader communities across the nation. He also claimed that traders registered under GST are being provided accident insurance of Rs 10 lakh in case of tragedies.

In addition, Tiwari said that this year's BJP manifesto also promises pension schemes for small traders. Not missing a chance to take a dig at the opposition, Tiwari aimed his guns at Arvind Kejriwal and raised the issue of a recent sealing drive in Mayapuri, that turned violent. He said, "Under a well-planned conspiracy, Kejriwal is trying to provoke the traders against BJP but the trading community stands with BJP and will support in future also."
