'Billu Barber' helped Jayesh Patel, 32, look like 81-yr-old

New Delhi: The investigation in the case where a 32-year-old man was nabbed for disguising himself as an octogenarian passenger at IGI airport, had led to the arrest of his makeup artist. Police claimed that the accused, to earn more money, started modifying appearances. Police identified the accused as Shamsher Singh alias Billu Barber (42) who lives in the sector -24, Rohini.

On September 8, one Jayesh Patel, a native of Ahmedabad in Gujarat was arrested while he was intended to travel to the USA on the strength of fraudulently obtained Indian Passport wherein he impersonated himself as 81-year-old whereas his real age is only 32 years.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Sanjay Bhatia said that Patel had disguised himself as an old person and managed to get the Immigration Clearance. During the course of the investigation, he disclosed that one makeup artist of Patel Nagar helped him to modify his appearances in order to conceal his real identity by greying his hairs. On September 15, Shamsher Singh was apprehended and on his pointing out, cosmetics and material used for dying hair colour into grey were recovered from his shop.

Police said that Singh, during interrogation, revealed that to earn more money to meet with his expenses he agreed to modify appearances of as many as 10 suspected persons including two females on the direction of agents. "The agents who were involved in the preparation of fake visa started sending their clients. In order to get immigration clearance, the accused changed their appearances," an investigator said. Adding further, police said that all the 10 persons are from different states and are suspected to be youths.
