Ambedkar police station murder: Cops await report
New Delhi: The police is now waiting for the report of public grievance and vigilance cell of South East district who is conducting an inquiry to find out the police lapses in murder case inside the Ambedkar Nagar Police Station on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (south east) Romil Baaniya stated that the report had not come yet.
The public grievance and vigilance cell of south east Delhi Police is headed by a senior official who was investigating the lapses in the case and will present its report in a day or two.
On Tuesday, a 28-year-old man identified as Anil was killed after he was stabbed to death inside the police station by the accused named Vishal, who were bought to the station following a scuffle between them in Dakshinpuri area after the former's daughter's birthday party.
The accused took a file poker which was inside investigation officer (IO) room and attacked the victim.
Police claimed that the accused who was involved in the incident was arrested on the spot and administrative action is been taken against the three police men, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of the same police station.
Police alleged that SHO Ambedkar Nagar Rakesh Kumar has been directed to report to district lines whereas SI Bhram Prakash and CT Ashok has been placed under suspension and directed to report district lines.
A day after the murder, over 50 locals gathered outside the police station and demanded stern action against the police personnel concerned in whose presence the murder allegedly took place.
The family members of the victim claimed that police used mild force on them whereas DCP South East denied the allegations stating that no force was used. The crowd consisted of the family and friends of the deceased Anil Kumar and arrived in front of the police station around 3:30 pm.
The family members claimed that there was a negligence shown by the police as both the persons should have been kept in separate rooms in police stations but instead of that, they were kept in the same place which resulted in the incident.
