After arresting husband for woman's murder in Ggn, cops nab his paramour

Gurugram: Gurugram Police on Tuesday arrested Shefali Bhasin Tiwari, a woman who conspired with her lover Vikram Chauhan for the murder of his five-month pregnant wife Deepika.

On October 27, on the day of Karva Chauth, Deepika, a bank employee, died after falling off the eighth floor of Ansal Valley View residential society at Gwal Pahari road, where she lived with her husband and daughter. The incident was reported to cops around 11.00 pm.

The case took a devious twist last Sunday evening after cops nabbed Deepika's husband Vikram for her murder.

He was arrested after Deepika's father Harkishan Ahuja filed a complaint with cops alleging that not only did Vikram push Deepika from the building, he also beat her up the same day.

During investigation, police had found out that Vikram – a professional in an engineering firm– was in an illicit relationship since the last six months with Tiwari, a married woman who lives in the same society.

While examining the evidence collected, cops found out that Deepika had known about the affair for some time, and on the day of her murder, she had a heated argument with Vikram over the same.

Already planning to get ride of his wife, Vikram had an online conversation with Tiwari around 7.30 pm on October 27, after which he made up his mind to murder Deepika. Around 9.30 pm, Vikram took Deepika to the eighth floor and pushed her off the balcony.

Sources claimed that Deepika managed to cling to the railing and pleaded her husband not to push her off for the sake of their children. However, Vikram unclasped her fingers and pushed her down.

Sanjeev Kumar, station house officer, DLF Phase-I police station, said, "We have booked Tiwari under sections 120B (conspiracy) and 201 (destroying evidence) of the Indian Penal Code."
