Advani invited on silver jubilee celebrations of Delhi Assembly

NEW DELHI: Delhi Assembly is going to celebrate its Silver Jubilee on December 15 and the Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel stated that veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been invited as chief guest for function.

Goel further elaborated that constituted as Delhi Assembly, it had its first sitting on December 14. To commemorate this historical event, a function is being organised in Assembly.

"LK Advani, member of Parliament (MP), was the first chairman of the erstwhile Delhi Metropolitan Council between 1966-70," said Goel. He further expressed his view that Advani has consented to be the chief guest and shall address the gathering of MLAs, ex-MLAs and ex-members of Metropolitan Council. Goel said that individual invitations are being sent out to all former members of the Metropolitan Council and Delhi Assembly to attend the function.
