AAP takes on BJP over possible power tariff increase

AAP lashed out at BJP claiming that they are influencing Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) to increase the power tariff. They also clarified that AAP and the Delhi govt will fight back and never allow the tariff hike.

Through Lieutenant Governor of Delhi BJP is creating preassure to increase the price of power tariff, AAP claimed. "The Chairman of DERC were nominated by the government are removed by the Lieutenant Governor and now only one member appointed by the previous govt is running DERC" said AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj.

He assured the people by saying, "AAP led government and the party will not allow any kind of power price hike. It is our commitment to the citizens."

However, earlier this month DERC held a public hearing on the issue of power hike.

Many power providers complaint that they are running in debt as in the last two years there is no increase in the power tariff.
