AAP appoints Sanjay Singh as its in-charge for Delhi elections

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appointed, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, as its in-charge for the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi. The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the party, in its meeting chaired by the Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, decided to appoint Sanjay Singh as the election in-charge, on Thursday. The AAP also appointed its national secretary, Pankaj Gupta, as the campaign director for the polls.

Congratulating Singh and Gupta, Kejriwal in a tweet said the last five years of the AAP government have proved to be a "revolution".

"It has given hope that yes, it's possible. Till now, the elections were fought on religion and caste but for the first time, a party is saying that we improved the lives of the people so vote for us," Kejriwal tweeted.

In a statement, party officials said the appointments are a part of its election strategy as dates for the Delhi elections are likely to be announced soon.

Party volunteers plan to take the work of the Delhi government in Health, Education, Electricity and Water sectors to every household of the city.

The Delhi government's decision to provide 200 units of free electricity every month, installation of CCTVs across Delhi, lighting up of 'dark spots' in the city, 20,000 litres of water free every month per household, having metered connections for tenants, the opening of local clinics across Delhi are some of the key decisions of the AAP-led government.
