4 detained while trying to enter Sena Bhawan

New Delhi: Four persons including a husband-wife duo were detained after they tried to gain entry in the Sena Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday. Police suspect that the accused used to cheat innocent unemployed youth on the pretext of getting them a job in the army.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma stated that one Amit Sharma alias Abhimanyu Sharma, a resident of Ghaziabad, along with his wife Harjit Kaur, driver Sonu Singh and another person Sandeep arrived in front of DRDO, Sena Bhawan at 5 pm. "Amit Sharma along with his wife tried to gain entry in Sena Bhawan imposing himself as Lt. Colonel of the Indian Army and also showed a fake ID card. He was checked by on-duty Naik," added the DCP. Later on, after verification by Army officials, Amit Sharma, his wife and other two accompanying persons were detained.

He further claimed that prima facie, it appears that the accused used to cheat innocent unemployed youth in the name of getting them jobs in the army. Sandeep Kumar who was also with him stated that he had given Rs 2.50 lakh to Amit Sharma for a job in the Indian Army. The accused, Amit Sharma, is an MTech. Further interrogation is in progress and necessary legal action is

being taken.
