33-yr-old unemployed man murders father, injures mother and brother too

Gurugram: A 33-year-old unemployed man brutally murdered his father by slitting his throat. He also did not spare his mother and younger brother when they tried to intervene and also injured them with the kitchen knife when they tried to stop him from committing the crime.

The two have been admitted in Safdarjung hospital in Delhi where they are receiving treatment. The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Sushil Mehta and his murder have been identified as Rishabh.

The incident occurred in Shivaji Nagar on Monday evening. According to law enforcement officials, Rishabh had an argument with his father in the evening on an issue that flared up to the extent that he attacked he slit his father in the fit of rage.

His anger did not end there and he even attacked his mother and younger brother with the knife when they came to stop him.

Officials in Gurugram highlight that Rishabh was suffering from the mental disease and his taking such extreme step may be a cause of that disease.

The 33-year-old was eventually caught by the neighbours and handed over to the police.

"As per our investigation, we have come to know that Rishabh was suffering from the mental disease and this may be one of the main reason for him taking such an extreme step. We, however, are investigating for more detail and aspects in the case. As of now, we are waiting for the mother and son to recover," said a senior official from Gurugram police.
