3 suffer bullet injuries in robbery incidents

Noida/Greater Noida: Three persons were left with bullet injuries after unidentified armed assailants opened fire on them during three separate robbery incidents from various parts of Noida and Greater Noida within 24 hours. In all the three incidents, the robbers successfully managed to flee the spot after committing the crime.

The most shocking incident among all three was reported from posh sector 29 area of Noida near Delhi Public School in broad daylight on Monday.

As per reports, Gaurav Kapoor (41), native of sector 49 in Noida worked as a used car dealer. Kapoor had left his office from sector 28 of Noida around 2:30 pm along with his friend Arvind Chawla to sector 30. While both were sitting in car near Delhi Public School in sector 29, two bike-borne assailants came and asked them to put down the window pane.

As they put down the glass, the criminals pointed gun on them and asked to give away all the money and valuables they had. Chawla handed over his gold chain and rings to them but when they refused further, the criminals opened fire on them which hit Kapoor's leg and thigh and tried to flee. They chased the criminals for nearly a kilometre but the criminals fired bullets on them and managed to flee. However, Kapoor somehow drove the car to nearby hospital.

According to Dr S Siddiqui, medical director, NMC hospital, Kapoor sustained two bullet injuries in his hand and thigh. His condition is stable while he had been kept at intense care unit for further treatment.

"Based on complaint received, we have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC against unidentified criminals. We are looking into CCTV cameras of nearby area to identify criminals while further investigations into the case are underway," said Dr. Kaustubh, Circle Officer-I, Noida.

The other two incidents were reported from Kasna police station area of Greater Noida on late Sunday night when armed robbers travelling in car robbed an auto driver with cash and valuables in Kasna area while a man travelling in a auto rickshaw was robbed at gun-point near Pi-4 area. In both the incidents, the victims received bullet injuries, however, they were out of danger.
