27 DU colleges make it to top 100; Miranda House ranks first

New Delhi: The participation of more colleges has pushed down a total number of Delhi University's colleges in the top ten ranking from six to five this year. In total there are 27 colleges of Delhi University that have managed to make it to the list of top 100 best colleges in the country.
In the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry's national ranking framework ranking, which was released on Tuesday by Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, Miranda House has been adjudged as the best college in the country.
Other colleges of Delhi University that have been ranked among top ten colleges include St Stephen's College (second rank), Hindu College (fourth rank) Shri Ram College of Commerce (seventh rank), Lady Shri Ram College for Women (eighth rank).
Notably, St Stephen's College has participated in the ranking for the first time. Similarly, Hindu College, which did not participate in the ranking last year, is at the fourth position in the top 10 list.
DU's SRCC and LSRC, which were at third and seventh position respectively last year, have been ranked seventh and eighth position respectively.
According to NIRF ranking 2018, the Lady Irwin College has been ranked 12 position, while Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, which was ranked at ninth position last year, has been ranked at 13 position and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) College, which was ranked fifth in 2017, has slipped to 14 rank in this year ranking.
Notably, ARSD had beaten LSR, which is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country for higher education, in the NIRF 2017 ranking.
Other colleges that made it to the top 100 list include Gargi College is ranked at 15 position, Kirori Mal College ranked at 20 position, Hans Raj College ranked at 21 position, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College is ranked at 23 position, Sri Venkateswara College is ranked at 24 position, Dyal Singh College ranked at 25 position, Ramanujan College is ranked at 26 position, Acharya Narendra Dev College is ranked at 27 position, Maharaja Agrasen College is ranked at 32 position.
Jesus & Mary College (50th rank), Indraprastha College for Women (52 rank), Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women (53 rank), Shivaji College (59 rank), Shyam Lal College (61 rank), College of Vocational Studies (73 rank), Lakshmi Bai College (80 rank), Maitreyi College (86 rank), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Evening) (99 rank) and Keshav Mahavidyalya, which was ranked at 15 position last, has been ranked at 100 position.
