10-year-old raped in East Delhi, alcoholic arrested

New Delhi: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area. Police claimed that they have solved the case in less than 24 hours after they arrested her predator from East Delhi area who was alcoholic.

According to police, the incident came to light on Thursday night when they received a PCR call from the hospital where the girl was taken. The team rushed the spot and during the investigation, they claimed that the girl was assaulted. Meanwhile, during the investigation, they arrested Manickam a resident of Ghaziabad who is an alcoholic. After finding the girl alone, the accused took her to an isolated place and committed the crime.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim's family had come from eastern Uttar Pradesh in search of work. Her parents are labourers. The victim's father stated that he came to know about the incident when he returned back home when the neighbours informed him about the incident. "I rushed to the hospital and came to know that wife had admitted my daughter," said the father adding that her daughter went through an operation. The victim was referred to AIIMS, the police said. A case has been registered police said. The accused is not known to the girl and works as the car cleaner

DCW chief Swati Jai Hind met the victim and her family. "I was shocked to see her there was swelling in her eyes and face there were several injury marks in the body the girl was brutally beaten up. The girl is critical and the accused is absconding," tweeted Swati Jai Hind. The DCW chief also claimed that one team will be there with the mother and they will put all-out effort to make sure that rapist hanged till death. Meanwhile in another cased in Shahdara district Krishna Nagar police arrested another accused for assaulting minor girl.
