Delhi to hum the Sufi tune

Sufi singers from India and Pakistan are set to perform together in Delhi as a part of 'Delhi Celebrates', an initiative taken together by Delhi Government's Department of Art, Culture and Languages and Sindhi Academy.

The event is to be held at Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts.

The event is intended to fascinate both Sufi lovers and Sindhi admirers, an ancient language with an inspiration of its own art, literature and music.

The CM of Delhi, Shiela Dikshit will be the chief guest and Prof. Kiran Walia, Minister for Education, Women and Child Development and Languages will be the Guest of Honor.

Two leading singers from Pakistan, Sanam Marvi and Tufail Sanjrani will be joining their Indian counterparts Ghansham Vaswani, Kajal Chandiramani and Uma Lalla to share the culture of Sindhi tradition and Sufi poetry.

Kathak dancer Namrata Pamnani will also be performing at the event.
