Delhi MP, leaders from Bihar under police scanner after Lambu Sharma's arrest

Sources in Intelligence Bureau told Millennium Post that after Lambu and his associate escaped from Ara court, Lambu stayed at the residence of a JD(U) MP in Delhi. The source, however, refused to disclose the name of the politician. "<g data-gr-id="37">Lambu's</g> associate — Akhilesh Upadhyay was arrested from a politician's house in <g data-gr-id="38">Bihar</g> but the state police showed his arrest from somewhere else," the source added.

Mukhtar Ansari came into conflict with Brijesh Singh, another established <g data-gr-id="33">gang-lord</g> who worked together with gangster turned politician — Krishnanand Rai of BJP. In 2001, Brijesh Singh's gang ambushed the Mukhtar Ansari gang on the Mau-Lucknow highway.

Ansari who is in jail is the prime accused in the Krishnanand Rai murder case among other crimes. Since then the duo — Ansari and Singh became rivals and wanted to eliminate each other.

"With the help of <g data-gr-id="60">Lambu</g> Sharma, Brijesh hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Ansari in Agra and Lucknow jail using explosives but failed. When <g data-gr-id="61">Lambu</g> was in Bihar jail, he came in contact with one Pramod Singh who asked Brijesh to use <g data-gr-id="62">Lambu</g> to execute the murder plan of Bajrangi. <g data-gr-id="55">A deal of</g> Rs 5 crore was set to kill Ansari out of which Rs 50 lakh was supposed to be given to <g data-gr-id="63">Lambu</g>," a highly placed source in the IB said.

The source further added that one Chand, who was close to Ansari, joined Brijesh's gang before <g data-gr-id="64">Lambu</g> was given the task to eliminate Ansari. Chand was the one who introduced <g data-gr-id="65">Lambu</g> to Pramod. It is important to mention that Brijesh is close to the JD(U) MLA, Sunil Pandey and his MLC brother Ulhas Pandey figured prominently in the killing of Vinod Singh, the mukhiya of <g data-gr-id="66">Ichri</g> panchayat in Bhojpur district.

Another source in IB said: "To discuss the conspiracy with <g data-gr-id="44">Lambu</g> both Sunil and Ulhas used to visit Bihar jail. On the day of the blast, January 23, he used his girlfriend — <g data-gr-id="45">Nageena</g> Devi as a suicide bomber. She used to meet <g data-gr-id="46">Lambu</g> at the jail and was unaware that she was being used as a human bomber."

The source also revealed that Chand, who was out on bail, and <g data-gr-id="47">Lambu</g> used to stay at Delhi MP's house in the national Capital. Few months ago, to execute the plan of murdering Ansari, Chand somehow managed to enter the jail premises where Ansari was lodged. It has been <g data-gr-id="58">learnt</g> that Chand used his contacts in the jail to allow <g data-gr-id="48">Lambu's</g> friendly entry. <g data-gr-id="49">Lambu</g> was supposed to check the security arrangement and other crucial things to prepare the blueprint of the jail. But the whole conspiracy failed. Before the gang could execute another attempt, Delhi Police Special Cell arrested <g data-gr-id="51">Lambu</g> on Tuesday from Maharana Pratap ISBT, near Tis Hazari after police received a tipoff.
