The much-debated Lokpal bill would most likely will be tabled in the Rajya Sabha either on Monday or Tuesday in an amended form. This revised bill will include the deletion of the controversial provision for the creation of the Lokayukta and bringing in more transparency in the appointment of the CBI chief.

The debate on this bill, which was passed by the Lok Sabha in December last year, is still pending. During the winter session, the bill was moved to the upper house on the last day of the extended session, but it could not be passed as the House was adjourned as midnight struck.
