The Indian Handicraft industry is showing continuous and steady growth rate every year. To give further impetus to this important segment and to empower the artisans and craftsmen Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd, (Ministry of Textiles) is organising Cottage Crafts Mela . The exhibition cum sale will be open to the public up to 15 November.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Samir Kumar Biswas, the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles on 3 November at Shilpi Haat, Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhavan.
Handicrafts industry comprises diversified products and a large variety of items such as Artefacts, Paintings, Wood craft, Metal ware, Pottery and Stone craft, Marble craft, Papier Mache, Furniture and furnishings, Home linen, Carpets, Sarees and shawls, Dress fabrics and ready to wear for the family will be showcased in the exhibition.
