Corpses of two women found in different parts of state

Two bodies of women were recovered by the police on Wednesday. A beheaded body of a woman was recovered by the West Midnapore police at Chakkeshi village under the jurisdiction of Kharagpur police station. In North 24 Parganas New Town, police recovered another woman’s body, which was partly decomposed.

Police said, Lakshmi Sen, a 40-year-old woman was found beheaded and her body was thrown into a pond. The family of the woman, after failing to find her, lodged complaint with the Kharagpur police station.

The locals of the Chakkeshi villege spotted the body of the woman and informed it to the police. A team from Kharagpur police station went there and recovered the body from the pond. It was difficult to identify the woman initially, but her family identified the woman with her clothes.

Police have started an unnatural death case. But the deceased family members demanded that the woman was raped and killed and then she was thrown into the pond in which her floating body was found.

On the other hand, police have identified the body of Susmita Thakur (35), a resident of Barasat on Wednesday. The investigators have learnt that the woman was missing from her in-laws place for some days. Her husband was called up in the New Town police station for interrogation.
