Congress meets to discuss strategy

The Congress top brass which includes the prime minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi met on Friday afternoon to discuss on allies vis-a-vis the pension bill and also focused on the economic situation in the country.
Held at Singh's residence- 7, Race Course road, also present during the Congress Core Group meet were top leaders of the party including Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Defence Minister AK Antony and Sonia Gandhi's key aide and political secretary Ahmed Patel.
Sources in the Congress said that the discussion during the meet focused on their relationship with the allies, after the pension bill was deferred in the cabinet.
Also there were talks on the economic situation and the falling rupee. There was also stress on the fact that the government should should come out and tell people about various measures it has taken on the issue of black money.
