Conf on disaster risk reduction

A three daylong conference is being organised to celebrate the First World Tsunami Awareness Day on November 5 in Delhi. To commemorate the occasion, an event is being organised with Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Champions at the Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The conference, which will be held from November 3-5 at Vigyan Bhawan, is being organised by the Central Government in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. 

“This move will help to spread awareness among people across the globe as far the dangers of Tsunami are concern. Stress will be laid upon the importance of early warning systems in order to mitigate damage,” said an official.
