Coal Scam: Court stays operation of NBW against JIPL’s Director
A special court on Friday stayed till April 29 the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by it against Director of Jharkhand Ispat Pvt Ltd (JIPL), R C Rungta, who is an accused in a coal blocks allocation case.
Special CBI Judge Bharat Parashar agreed to the plea of advocate Rajiv Mohan, representing Rungta, after being assured that the accused would appear before him on April 29 and such situation would not occur in future.
A day after the court had issued NBW against Rungta for his failure to appear before it during the hearing, his counsel moved a plea seeking cancellation of the warrant.
"It has been submitted by counsel Rajiv Mohan that accused shall be appearing on April 29 and till then the operation of NBW against him may be stayed," the court said.
