Baruipur College in South 24-Parganas virtually turned into a battle field after a clash broke out between the students of Baruipur College and Bhangar College after some students of Bhangar College had allegedly hurled lewd comments on a teacher.

Police said that the some third year students from Bhangar College, who were appearing for an examination at Baruipur College, had passed lewd remarks at a teacher of Baruipur College.

She had raised the matter with the college authorities. As the students of Baruipur College came to know about the incident, they asked the students of other college that why they had done such thing.
In response, the accused had allegedly misbehaved with the other group of students and as a result an altercation broke out between the two groups.

The students of Bhangar College have however alleged that they were beaten up by the other group of students.  They have denied the allegation that they had passed lewd remarks at a college teacher. The senior officials of the Baruipur College refused to comment in this regard.
