City to see sudden dip in temperature from Nov 23

As Delhi continues to witness a dip in temperature, the Indian weather forecasting agencies have said the national Capital is likely to see a sudden change in weather from November 23.

This will be followed by snowfall in some of the northern states, including Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

“Delhi won’t witness a major change in weather before November 23. Once there is snowfall in some of the northern belts of the country, only then the city is likely to see a sudden change in temperature,” Mahesh Palawat, director of Skymet, said.

Skymet is India’s only private weather forecasting agency. He said after November 23 the average minimum temperature during the day will likely hover below 9 degrees Celsius.

An official from the India Meteorological Department said: “The western disturbances are weak now due to which currently there has not been much dip in temperature even in the month of November. However after 3-4 days the scenario is going to change and dip in temperature is sure.”

The national Capital witnessed a pleasant Thursday with the maximum temperature recorded at 27.7 degrees Celsius, normal for the season. Met has forecast a clear Friday.

“Friday morning is likely to be foggy, but the sky during the day will be clear. “The maximum and
the minimum temperature of the day are likely to hover around 28 degrees and 12 degrees Celsius,” said an IMD official.

The minimum temperature on Thursday settled at 11.5 degrees Celsius, normal for the season’s average.

Wednesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average, while the minimum temperature settled at 11 degrees Celsius, also a notch below the season’s average.
