City police detain two youths from Ekbalpore on charges of murder

Police on Monday detained two youths from Ekbalpore on charges of alleged murder of their friend.

Police said the victim Sk Riazuddin alias Adil (15) went missing on December 9. His family members had lodged a complaint with the police on December 10. 

During the investigation, police came to know that Adil was a drug addict. Adil got Rs 1,000 as pocket money on December 9 and he went to Princep Ghat with two of his friends. According to information, after inhaling adhesives at Princep Ghat, Adil fell into the river. After the incident, his friends neither informed Adil’s family members nor the police. 

Both the friends were detained after Adil’s family members filed a complaint at police station. They revealed the matter during the interrogation. Officers from Disaster Management Group rushed to Princep Ghat and initiated a search operation in the river. 

However, they failed to find out Adil’s body. The youths were booked under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code on charges of kidnapping and murder.
