Child within

The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre will be hosting a sculpture exhibition, titled Being a Child by French artist Christine Margotin.

In this exhibition, Christine Margotin will take the viewers back to childhood, a crucial period of life that one should never completely leave, she states. What can be learned from observing children? What can adults gain in reconnecting with their childhood? The artist explores the dialectics between childhood and adulthood through three series of artworks: sculptures of life-size children playing simple games, sculptures of joyful children , their various moods and 3D-canvases displaying messages about childhood. Margoti makes art in 3D, mostly by making bronze sculptures of people engaged in actions that inspire joy or compassion in her. Her inspiration generally expresses itself through themes like childhood, waterside, Indian roads, love and spirituality.
