Centre conducts audit of forest institutes in U’khand

The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change has conducted the academic audit of all institutions working under it for assessing the quality and quantity of activities being undertaken by these organisations.

A three-member committee, conducting the academic audit of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), reviewed its working and deliberated upon reforms necessitated to be adopted. The committee also conducted the academic audit and reviewed the activities being undertaken by the Forest Research Institute (FRI). All heads of various research divisions of the FRI presented details about the various projects being carried out by the Institute before the committee.

The panel appreciated the research, extension and education work being carried out by the scientists of the FRI. The panel members remarked that the FRI being a pioneer research institute in the country should further take up advances in forestry research.
