CBI searches cupboards in Jindal’s residence as he returns from London

Congress MP Naveen Jindal, who returned from London on Friday, is likely to be questioned soon by the Central Bureau of Investigations in connection with the corruption case against him in coal scam.

‘As soon as he came back he was asked to open the cup boards at his house which couldn’t be opened as the key code was with Jindal himself. He opened them on Friday,’ the CBI sources said.

The agency, however, remained mum on what was seized.

The CBI had registered a case of bribery against former minister of state for coal Dasari Narayana Rao and Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal in connection with alleged irregularities in allocation of coal blocks. The agency has already questioned Rao in the case. Rao was MoS coal from 2004 to 2006 and 2006 to 2008. The CBI had booked Rao and Jindal on charges of graft, criminal misconduct and cheating.
