CBI gives clean chit to Raja Bhaiyya

Former Jail Minister in Akhilesh Yadav Government and an independent legislator Raghuraj Pratap Singh, also known as Raja Bhaiyya, got a reprieve when Central Bureau of Investigation gave a clean chit to him and his four aides in the Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Zia-ul-Haq murder case.

CBI said in its report that the lie detection test carried out on 20 June was found to be negative. The CBI submitted its report in the special CBI court of Zeenat Mirza.
Raja Bhaiyya was questioned by CBI on 15 May. After the news broke out, Raja Bhaiyya said his innocence has been proved. ‘It was purely a political conspiracy to implicate me in the murder case,’ he said and added: ‘Even my aides were named in the conspiracy and it was an attempt to defame me.’

When asked he said that he might file defamation suit against DySP wife Praveen Azad for falsely naming him in the murder of her husband. ‘It is strange how Praveen Azad knew the names of my close aides and put them in the FIR. This proves about the conspiracy,’ he said.

Raja Bhaiyya said several politicians have been charged by the CBI in murder cases but he is the first political leader who agreed to go for polygraph test as he was confident that his innocence would be proved.
Several SP ministers and legislators were present with Raja Bhaiyya in the press conference to show their solidarity with the leader.
