Canadian Mayor wants closer with city’s IT sector
The Mayor of Markham Frank Scarpatti has expressed his willingness to work at IT sector with the state government.
He has also invited the state Urban development minister Firhad Hakim and Mayor Sovan Chatterjee to visit Markham and see the way the municipality offers amenities to the people.
Hakim later told media that Markham was basically at IT hub and as Kolkata was coming up as a major IT destination, the Mayor had expressed his willingness to work together. There are 1,000 IT firms in the city where highly trained people work, the Mayor told Hakim.
Scarpatti said Markham was one of the finest cities in Canada and the amenities provided to the people were unique. The solid waste management was done meticulously. The garbage was not used for land filling.
