Take situations head-on as they come: Sanjiv Goenka

Kolkata: "Status quo is not necessarily the best thing. One should not be shy of taking situation head-on as it comes", said Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group. At an interactive session organised by the Young Leaders Forum of Indian Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata on Tuesday, Sanjiv Goenka remarked that status quo is not necessarily the best thing and that one should not be shy of taking situations head-on as it comes. He pointed out that while designing products companies should assess their strengths and should know what is convenient for their customers. Sharing his experience about challenges – he faced while managing his power utility company – Goenka said that inculcating a sense of pride among the work force had helped him turn the tide in his favour. Finally, he stated that sense of achievement and sense of creating something new motivates him to take up new challenges. ICC (YLF) Chairman Keshav Bhajanka in his welcome remarks highlighted achievements of Sanjiv Goenka as an industry icon and also his philanthropic activities.
