CCL Jan coal output up 23%

Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), under the able leadership of CMD CCL Gopal Singh, recorded an unprecedented growth of 23 per cent in coal production in the month of January 2019 in comparison to the corresponding period in last FY and simultaneously registered an increase of 8 per cent in coal dispatch.

In the current fiscal (2018-19), till January 31, 2019, the company has produced 48.5 Million Tonnes (MT) coal, which is 5.6 MT (13 per cent) more than the corresponding period of the previous financial year. In the recent years, CCL has put special emphasis on infrastructure, commencement of ambitious Greenfield projects which have been stuck for years and expansion of existing ones, whose positive outcome have started to flow now. Its live example can be seen in whopping growth in coal production in the first month of 2019 itself.

The benefit of this have reached thermal power plants in form of quality and abundant coal supply and reaped by common citizens with unabated power supply at reduced rates.

In the last five years, CCL has initiated various projects to develop infrastructures, build railway sidings for coal dispatch, acquired land for Greenfield projects and other efforts which has not only benefited the citizens at large but also given the impetus to the country's resurgent economy. This campaign to provide electricity to the each and every household by the government of India i.e. "Power for All", which was conceptualized by our Prime Minister.
