Naavda-Upleta bulk pipeline to be launched by Rupani today

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will dedicate the Naavda-Upleta bulk pipeline scheme worth Rs. 597 crores on June 2, 2017 at the police parade ground at Jetpur of Rajkot.

As a result of this scheme waters of Narmada will reach at all 579 villages situated in 11 talukas of Rajkot district along with 15 other cities.

In addition, he will also announce to extend this pipeline to the region of Kutiyana and Ranavav of Porbander district. Thus, Porbander along with Rajkot districts will be included in this scheme as well.

It is worth to mention here that, as a result of the visionary approach of the state government, 30 villages of Jetpur, 47 villages of Jaamkandorna, 30 villages of Dhoraji and 46 villages of Upleta; a total of 156 villages in Rajkot district will be benefitted with waters of Narmada through this bulk pipeline. The pipeline will provide Narmada water to as many as 10 lakh people from five cities of Jetpur, Dhoraji, Upleta, Jaamkandorana and Bhaayavadar and will connect with entire Rajkot district through a network of Narmada water.

Apart from Rupani, Water Supply Minister Babubhai Bokhiria, Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Jayesh Radadiya, Minister of State for Water Supply Department Jashabhai Barad, and MP Viththalbhai Radadiya will grace the program.
