Bhel secures Rs 736 cr order for N-steam generators

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a significant order worth Rs.736 Crore for supply of Steam Generators from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limted (NPCIL). The order has been received against competitive bidding.
The Steam Generators will be used for a 700 MWe Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) to be installed at Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojna (GHAVP) in Fatehabad district of Haryana. The Steam Generators will be manufactured at the Tiruchirappalli plant of BHEL. BHEL has been a pioneer in the design and development of Nuclear Steam Generators alongwith NPCIL and has so far supplied 38 Steam Generators for various Nuclear power installations in the country. Currently, BHEL manufactured Steam Turbine Generator sets contribute nearly half of the country's total installed Nuclear power capacity.
BHEL has dedicated infrastructure and skilled manpower to address the special design, manufacturing and testing requirements complying with international codes and standards for various components of a Nuclear power plant.
