Bus carrying wedding party overturns, 1 dead

A man was killed and 32 others injured when a bus carrying a wedding party overturned near Khandaghosh area in the district, a police official said.

The accident occurred at Ahladipur village reportedly due to a mechanical failure. The driver lost control of the bus which turned turtle, the official said.

However, the bride and the groom were not among the passengers in the bus, the official said.

The injured were admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) where the condition of several passengers was stated to be serious, the official added.
