Boy’s body found with his throat slit

Mystery shrouded over the death of an 18-year-old youth whose body with slit throat was found in a paddy field beside Barrackpore-Kalyani Expressway near Jagatdal at Naihati in North 24-Parganas.

 Police said that the victim Krishna Sarkar had appeared in Higher Secondary examinations this year and was a resident of Ramkrishnapalli. He was missing since 6 pm on Friday and his body was found on Saturday morning.  A police officer said preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was scheduled to go to Digha along with his friends last night. The youth received a call on his cell phone at around 7.30 pm on Friday. He left the home soon after he received the call.  His family members initiated a search when he didn’t return till 11 pm. 

His parents finally contacted the police after they contacted all their relatives, victim’s friends and at his private tuition. But they did not have any information about Sarkar.  Police has asked victim’s family members to inform immediately if they receive any phone call demanding ransom. Police had initiated search in the matter.
