Body of woman found in trunk

The body of a woman, aged around 30 years, was found inside a trunk dumped in a drain in North-east Delhi’s Usmanpur area on Tuesday. A case of murder has been registered and the police haven’t yet ruled out the possibility of sexual assault, said a senior official. “We are trying to ascertain the woman’s identity as early as possible. The cause of death and other related questions can be answered only after a medical examination,” said DCP (Northeast) Veenu Bansal. He added that the information has been spread through wire and missing reports in connection with a woman are being searched across police stations in the city. The incident came to light around 12 noon when locals tried to get the drain unclogged and an iron trunk became visible.
