BJP’s Mahila Morcha kicks off march from Kamduni to Kakdwip

Even after three persons involved in rape and murder of a college girl in Kamduni were sentenced to death and three others were awarded life imprisonment, politicking the issue by the Opposition parties continue unabated.   

A team comprising the Left Front inclined intellectuals led by Bharati Mudshuddi visited the area and felicitated Mousumi and Tumpa Kayal, who led the movement demanding exemplary punishment of those involved in the case. On February 7, a programme will be organised in the area to show respect to the deceased. 

BJP Mahila Morcha on Wednesday started a march from Kamduni to Kakdwip to highlight lawlessness in the state and insecurity of women. Apart from its president Roopa Ganguly, Kailash Vijayvargiya, party’s national secretary in-charge of West Bengal and Vijaya Rahatkar, morcha’s all India president were president. The rally passed through various areas to reach kakdwip in South 24-Parganas after 12 days.

Ganguly said the law and order situation in the state had turned from bad to worse and the women feel insecure. But the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had no time to hold meetings with administration to review the situation. She was busy holding festivals throughout the state. “Trinamool Congress has become a party of goons over whom the party had no control,” she said.
