BJP to reach out to new party members

In an effort to counter the opposition’s “disinformation campaign”, the BJP has stepped up effort to reach out to millions of its new members under a new campaign from May 1, as membership through missed call is mechanical and without any people to people contact. Announcing the move in a workshop of its state conveners under the banner of “Maha Sampark Abhiyaan”, party president Amit Shah asked party workers to complete interaction with each and every new member within three months from May onwards. He said that the opposition’s disinformation against NDA government has to be dealt firmly by party workers.

“Reach out to its new members to counter the disinformation campaign and lay a strong foundation to take the party forward,” Shah said. “When the membership drive started I was doubtful myself. We had secured 17 crore votes and were aiming for 10 crore members. People also said that membership through missed call is mechanical without any people to people contact. That is why this new campaign. Those who have given us missed calls are our well-wishers. We have to now turn these well-wishers into our workers,” he said. Once the campaign will end, the party will begin training of chosen workers from August 1 and finish it before the organisational polls take place.

“Please tell the new members about the good work being done by the government. If 10 crore people can do that, no propaganda will work against us,” he added.  It was learnt that the party workers will carry three booklets with them including one having history of the party, the second would have details of its fundamental ideologies such as integral humanism and “antyodaya” and third would detail the good work done by the Modi and BJP ruled states.
