BJP to protest petrol price hike on 31 May

Delhi Pradesh BJP has announced a massive protest on 31 May in the capital to protest steep hike in petrol price in support of Bharat Bandh organised by NDA. 'After coming to power for the second time in 2009, the government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 22 within three years.

This hike has been done at the time when the price of crude is decreasing in the international market,' said Vijender Gupta, President of Delhi BJP.

According to him, the government would be increasing the price of diesel and kerosene in the near future.

'If this is done then it will break the back of the people. Even today 60 per cent of the people in Delhi do not get nutritious food. With further increase in the prices, people will be compelled to go without food. Poor people will migrate out of Delhi in large numbers, which will adversely affect the economic and social system of Delhi,' said Gupta.
