Trolling after these words will test your meditation skills: PM Modi to Ray Dalio on praising him

New Delhi: Narendra Modi on friday forewarned American billionaire Ray Dalio of being trolled on social media after he hailed the Prime Minister as "one of the best" leaders in the world at present.

"The trolling after these words of praise would give you the best opportunity to test your meditation skills and being like a Ninja!" PM Modi said in a satirical tweet.

Ray Dalio, founder, co-chairman and co-chief investment officer of Bridgewater Associates, had conducted an on-stage discussion after Modi's keynote address at the third iteration of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) event in Saudi Arabia earlier this week.

"In my opinion, India's Prime Minister Modi is one of the best, if not the best, leaders in the world. I had an opportunity to explore with him how he thinks as well as what he thinks," the influential global investor tweeted earlier in the day.

In his series of tweets, Dalio also said that the Modi administration was "providing both basics and cutting edge digital technologies". Responding to his remarks, PM Modi said, "To empower so many Indians, especially women has been one of the most satisfying efforts of our tenure. The credit for the same goes to the people of India who made these movements their own and drove the transformation."

Dalio also said that Modi had a "good chance of creating revolutionarily better outcomes with the broad support of the population". "Those are big deals that are hard to find in other countries," the US billionaire said.

Acknowledging the investor's statement, Modi said, "The mandate people blessed our team with has been unseen for decades. A full five year government coming back to office with a majority was last seen many many years ago. A cross section of people, across regions, religions, languages, age groups and occupations have blessed us."

In his keynote address, the Prime Minister invited Saudi companies to invest in India's energy space, saying the government has set a target of $100 billion investment in the sector. Speaking at the annual investment forum, also known as 'Davos in the desert', Modi promised stable, predictable and transparent policy regime to catalyse foreign investments.
