Setback for Robert Vadra:CBI Registers 18 Cases in land allotment case

In a major setback to Robert Vadra, the probing agency CBI today registered 18 cases related to allotment of land to private companies in Rajasthan including those associated with him.

"The Central Bureau of Investigation has today registered 18 cases U/s 420, 461, 468 and 471 of IPC on the request of Rajasthan Government & further Notification from Government of India and taken over the investigation of 16 FIRs bearing number 103 to 115 dated 26.08.2014 & FIRs number 124 to 126 dated 05.09.2014 earlier registered at Police Station, Gajner, Bikaner (Rajasthan) and 02 FIRs number 144, 145 dated 26.08.2014 registered at Police Station, Kolayat, Bikaner U/s 420, 461, 468 & 471 of IPC. The said cases are related to alleged fraudulent and fictitious claims/allotments in lieu of land acquired for Mahajan Field Firing Range, Bikaner used by the Indian Army." ,CBI spokeperson communicated to Millennium Post.

Earlier Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria had also alleged that the company related to Robert Vadra was the third party to purchase 275 bigha land in 2010 and it sold some parts of the land to the fourth party in 2012, the agency added.

The state government had earlier written a letter to the CBI for a probe in land scams in Bikaner, including those companies that are linked to Robert Vadra. The Congress had accused the Vasundhara Raje-led BJP Government in the state of misusing the probing agency ahead of Assembly polls.

Further investigation is underway.
