Mamata becomes Puja's superstar music composer

Kolkata: The theme song of Suruchi Sangha composed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been viewed by more than 1.7 lakh people in just 36 hours after it was uploaded on YouTube on Friday. The Chief Minister has penned the theme songs of Suruchi Sangha for the past four years.

This year's theme song 'Jayo Maa Jayo Durga' has been sung by Minister of State for Information and Cultural Affairs Department Indranil Sen and Lopamudra Mitra. The song has been uploaded on YouTube on October 12.

Like all the previous years, people had been waiting for the moment when the theme song composed by the Chief Minister would get uploaded. Within a few minutes, the video was liked by many.

The number of viewers also went up rapidly and within a day, it crossed the 1 lakh mark. Till 9 pm on Saturday, more than 1.21 lakh netizens had watched the video of the theme song and the number stood at 174,460 by 4 pm on Sunday.

At the same time, the theme song has been liked and shared by thousands of people. It was October 10 when the Chief Minister had shared the songs of her new Puja album 'Roudrachaya' on Facebook and she had stated in the post, "I am sharing with all of you my new Puja album 'Roudrachaya', with seven songs penned and composed by me. Indranil, Lopamudra and Rupankar have given their voices. Do enjoy the songs by clicking on the links below…. Happy Puja."

Within a very short time, the songs became popular and were even found being played at different Durga Puja pandals. Within a few minutes of sharing the songs on social media, they went viral with thousands of people viewing the same.

People congratulated the Chief Minister for giving such a wonderful gift ahead of Durga Puja. It may be recalled that the theme song of Suruchi Sangha was launched on the day of Mahalaya (October 8) and was uploaded on YouTube on Friday. On the same day, the Chief Minister had inaugurated the Puja of Suruchi Sangha. This year the theme of the Puja is 'Maa Aschen Maatir Ghore: Shiuli Gandha Utsav Jure'.

Thousands of people have already started turning up at the pandal to get a glimpse of the clay artwork on display.
