West Bengal government is ready to provide land to the plastics industry to set up a polymer park, State Finance Minister Amit Mitra on Friday said.
“We are ready to give land for a polymer park in the state. WBIDC has land and I urge the plastics industry to give a complete proposal in this regard,” Mitra said at an event here.
Regarding the permanent exhibition ground ‘Milan Mela’ in the city, he said that the legal complications have been sorted out and it would be turned into a better infrastructure than the Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
Larsen & Toubro is constructing a world class convention centre at New Town, here, he added.
The minister further informed that per capita consumption of plastics in West Bengal was lower than the national average.
