Bengal cricketer’s condition stable

The condition of cricketer Rahul  Ghosh, who was hospitalised after sustaining a head injury during a local league match, is stable and he seems to be recovering well, but the doctors at a city hospital on Wednesday said they would still keep him under observation in ICU.

“His pulse rate, blood pressure is normal. He’s talking, feeling hungry and there’s no dizziness or feeling of nausea,” Sabyasachi Sen, medical director of Nightingale Hospital, said on Wednesday. The Police cricketer, who was hit on the head in their CAB Second Division match against Vijay SC, however, will be kept under observation and the doctors have ruled out any immediate discharge from the hospital.

“There will be a repeat of CT Scan and MRI on Wednesday to doubly check that there’s no clot. We don’t want to take any risk and will keep him under observation. There’s no question of any discharge now. If he’s fine then we will shift him to general bed,” Sen added. Earlier, sports minister in charge Arup Biswas had come to visit Ghosh in the hospital and assured the family of full support for the youngster’s treatment.
