Award show for excellence

The Awards were presented by Dr LB Singhal, Development Commissioner, Noida Special Economic Zone for outstanding Export Performance during the year 2011-12 and 2012-13. Dr. Singhal felicitated all award winners for their sincere efforts in increasing the country’s export.

The DC, NSEZ presented export Awards to 18 Prominent EOUs and SEZ, in various categories comprising gem and jewellery, plastic products, electronic, computer hardware, sports goods etc. The prominent awardees included Vikas WSP, Sriganganagar (Rs. 1861.69 Cr), Moser Bear India Ltd ( Rs. 1486.64 Cr), PP Jewellers (Exports) ( Rs 446.96 Cr), Motherson Sumi Systems ( Rs 266.52 Cr), MKU Ltd (100 per cent EOUs) ( Rs 110.04 Cr) etc.  

While addressing the participants Dr LB Singhal, Development Commissioner, Noida, appreciated the 
efforts of EPCES Noida region and said that EOUs and SEZs are engine of economic growth in India and contributing well in terms of employment.  He further said that two schemes for export of merchandised and services which are Merchandised export from India Scheme (MEIS) and Service Export from India Scheme (SEIS) has been announced in the Foreign Trade Policy.  

The incentive under the two schemes MEIS and SEIS would also be available to SEZ units.  There are 27 SEZ developers under jurisdiction of zonal DC Noida.  He also mentioned that the facilities available in the SEZ scheme and SEZ developers are providing world class infrastructure in the zone. 
Madhup Vyas, IAS, Director SEZ complemented EOUs/SEZ units for their efforts increasing export of the country.  He further said that phase-II of the digitisation and online processing of various activities relating to SEZ developers and units has been launched and this would help in bringing transparency and accountability in official dealing and would also greatly facilitate ease of doing business in SEZ.      

While welcoming RM Manroa, regional chairman, EPCES Noida, said that export has gone down for the last seven to eight months. The government departments are working hard to achieve the target of 300 billion dollars in 2015-2016. He further said that in spite of the export going down there is an increase in the IT/ITES sector.  SEZ developers have developed IT/ITES SEZ in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Jaipur and other places by investing heavy investment in construction of built up area. 

He also said that UP government is setting up of electronic park in Greater Noida region to attract investment from overseas companies. Regional chairman complemented awardees for the excellent contribution in increasing export of country.
