Art that connects

Art Konsult presents an exhibition of some works by Avant Garde artistes in its new space.  Some belong to the nationalist movement stirred by the Bengal Masters such as Abanindranath Tagore, proclaimed as the true initiator of Modernism in India by some, such as himself, Jamini Roy, Abani Sen, Somnath Hore, Gaganendranath Tagore etc. Chittaprosad Bhattacharya, Gobardhan Ash, Gopal Ghosh and those that followed into the tradition and also unknown uncelebrated masters of Early Bengal also known as Dutch Bengal. Along with George Keyt one of Sri Lanka's most distinguished modern painter who started to explore and initiate a style more indigenous much like the Bengal school.

The art heritage of India is perhaps one of the most ancient on the planet. Despite many religious traditions and cultures, the general artistic style at any time has been more indifferent.
