Armed miscreants loot valuables from train passengers

A group of armed miscreants looted valuables on gun point from the passengers travelling in Howrah bound Bhadrak-Howrah fast passenger.  They boarded the train near Belda station in West Midnapore early on Tuesday morning. They threatened the passengers with dire consequences if they do not hand over the ornaments and valuables to them. 

Police said when the train left Belda, 7-8 gang members stormed into a train compartment. As they were equipped with arms nobody tried to resist them.  They threatened if anybody raises an alarm he or she will be killed. Passengers in the compartment were panicked. Some were however had received injuries when they were trying to run from one place to another inside the train compartment. 

The gang robbed valuables from the passengers on gun point. A businessman Paresh Pal was carrying few lakh rupees with him. The dacoits looted the entire amount from him. Before leaving train the miscreants locked the businessman inside the toilet who was later rescued by the government railway police at Narayangarh station.  It has been suspected that the robbers were aware that the businessman was travelling with a huge amount. 

Police have initiated a case in this connection. Police are investigating whether the miscreants had prior information that the businessman was carrying a huge amount of money in the train. However, they are yet to arrest anyone in this connection.
