Another tea garden worker dead in Dooars

Lajrush Kharua (52), another tea garden worker in Dooars on Monday died following a prolonged suffering.

Police said that the accused was a permanent worker of the Dimdima Tea garden owned by Duncans group. Local people said that he was suffering from various ailments after he became unemployed following the closure of the tea garden.

Victim’s wife Minu Kharia said that they had no money to treat the patient as he was suffering various diseases. 

She also claimed that he was suffering from mal-nutrition. 

The district officials are yet to verify the cause of the death. According to a senior official the cause of the worker’s death yet to be verified.

It may be mentioned that Koilash Bodaik (32) who used to work at a tea garden owned by Duncans group died on last Saturday. 

The victim’s family members also claimed that he died due to malnutrition.
