Ananth Kumar asks voters to upset Lalu-Nitish applecart

"Imposition of emergency in 1975 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was first instance of jungle raj in the country ... RJD supremo Lalu Prasad imitated Congress in implementing jungle raj -2 in Bihar and now he in collusion with Nitish Kumar and Congress are dreaming about ushering in 'jungle raj -3' in the state by aiming to win the upcoming assembly polls," he said.

"The people of Bihar must understand the designs of Lalu-Nitish and foil their dream of 'jungle raj-3' at the hustings," Kumar said at a function after releasing a book named 'Beech Samar Mei' (In the Middle of War) by senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi.

"The war has not ended. One such battle was fought against an individual ... Now the time has come to finish off the man who changes <g data-gr-id="27">character</g> at the drop of <g data-gr-id="28">hat</g>," the Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister said in a <g data-gr-id="22">hard hitting</g> attack on the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The Union Minister also berated Kumar for paying tributes to the legendary socialist leader Jai Prakash Narayan (JP) at every anniversary of Emergency, which was imposed by Indira Gandhi exactly 40 years ago, and going on to join forces with the same party against whom JP had led a nationwide agitation after the imposition.

"It is an act of deceit and cheating," he said and added that the people of Bihar would punish him (Nitish Kumar) as well as Lalu Prasad for their betrayal of JP's legacy.

Ananth Kumar, senior BJP leader who is the party's in-charge for assembly polls, sought to nail the Bihar chief minister for practising politics of opportunism.
